BEIJING, March 3 (ChinaMil) -- International media are paying close attention to China's upcoming two sessions, namely, the plenary sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
"China's economic growth target and military expenditure increase are the most concerned topics," Seoul's Newsis News Agency reported March 2.
This year marks the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), so military expenditure will draw close attention. China's defense budget increased by only 7.6 percent last year, but since the Trump government announced plans to increase US military spending by nearly 10 percent, there are predictions that China will also adopt a double-digit increase.
