BEIRUT, July 21 (ChinaMil) -- Senior officials from the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) on Wednesday made an inspection tour to the barracks of the 16th Chinese peacekeeping multifunctional engineer detachment to Lebanon.

It is learnt that such inspection tour aims to investigate the mine sweeping capacity of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon(UNIFIL).

Chinese peacekeepers demonstrated the complete demining courses such as suspected mine sweeping, signal source processing and so forth. They also made perfect answers to questions raised by UNMAS officials, and performed demining operations in strict accordance with the standard operating procedures.

"I'm pleased to see the professional skills that Chinese mine sweeping engineers showed, and there is a good interaction mechanism between the team leaders and members," said Emily, an inspecting official from the UNMAS, after the inspection tour.

It is reported that Chinese peacekeepers have a reputation for "zero casualties" and "China speed".
