SALALAH, January 5 (ChinaMil) -- The guided missile frigate Linyi of the 19th escort taskforce of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) arrived at the Port of Salalah in Oman on the morning of January 4, 2014, local time, for its 3-day replenishment.
This is the first time for the warships in the 19th Chinese escort taskforce to have a port replenishment since the taskforce set sail from Qingdao on December 2, 2014.
During their stay in Salalah, the Chinese naval officers and men working on the Linyi ship will have group visits to Salalah to learn about the local history, culture and folk customs, and will replenish the ship with living goods and materials.
The guided missile frigate Weifang and the comprehensive supply ship Weishanhu of the 19th Chinese escort taskforce will continue to perfrom the escort mission while the Linyi is in replenishment.
After the Linyi finishes its replenishment, the Weifang and the Weishanhu will take turns to have a port replenishment.
