HONG KONG, January 19 (ChinaMil) -- The founding ceremony for the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association Limited was held at Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Hong Kong Garrison on January 18, 2015.
Leung Chun-ying, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Zhang Xiaoming, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government (LOCPG) in the Hong Kong SAR, Tan Benhong, commander of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, Yue Shixin, political commissar of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison, Wang Zhimin, deputy director of the LOCPG, Jiang Yu, deputy commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong SAR, and other guests attended the ceremony on that day.
The Hong Kong Army Cadets Association Limited is the only voluntary uniformed organization in Hong Kong that offers training based on the Chinese-style military marching.
The founding of the association has gained strong supports from the Government of the HKSAR, the LOCPG, the PLA Hong Kong Garrison and all walks of life in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Army Cadets Association Limited will set up 3 columns in the first stage, namely the teaching column, elite column and regional column, and invite college students, middle school students and primary school students in Hong Kong for participation based on the practices of the Military Life Experience Camp for College Students, the Military Summer Camp for Hong Kong Youth and the Moral Education Training Camp that have been popular and operated in Hong Kong for many years, according to sources. In addition to marching, the future activities will include military training.
13 uniformed organizations, the associations of school headmasters of the 3 major areas, persons-in-charge of youth organizations in Hong Kong, as well as about 300 college students and middle school students jointly witnessed the founding of the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association Limited.
