HONG KONG, September 1 (ChinaMil) -- The Hong Kong Garrison of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) completed an organic unit rotation on August 31. It has been the 18th troop rotation since the Garrison began to be stationed in Hong Kong on July 1, 1997.
The rotation is carried out in accordance with the Garrison Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the command of China's Central Military Commission (CMC).
After the rotation, the numbers of personnel and equipment of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison are kept unchanged.
The new troops in the Army, Navy and Air Force units of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison had received hard military training and learnt Hong Kong’s basic situation as well as relevant laws and regulations before entering Hong Kong.
The newly stationed troops of the PLA Hong Kong Garrison will firmly implement the "one country, two systems" guideline, strictly abide by the Basic Law of the HKSAR of the PRC, the Garrison Law of the HKSAR of the PRC and the laws of the HKSAR, faithfully perform their duties and make positive contributions to safeguarding Hong Kong's long term prosperity and stability.
