BEIJING, April 12 (ChinaMil) -- China and the U.S. have been keeping normal communication and coordination on the specific time for the U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter’s visit to China, according to the Information Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on April 11, 2016.
The U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter cancelled his visit to China during an upcoming trip to Asia for the reason of "schedule" on April 9 according to the U.S. media. Prior to the trip, Carter also claimed that China has intensified the regional tension of the South China Sea.
When responding to Journalists' question about Carter' cancel of visit to China on the afternoon of April 11, the Information Affairs Bureau of China’s MND said that the U.S. Defense Secretary Carter’s visit to China has been included in the communication plan between the militaries of China and the United States in 2016.
The two sides have exchanged views on this visit at a working meeting between China's MND and the U.S. DOD held in January this year. Both defense ministries have been keeping normal communication and coordination on the visit's specific time, according the Information Affairs Bureau.
