189 Chinese peacekeepers return to China from Liberia

BEIJING, July 1 (ChinaMil) -- A United Nations charter plane carrying 189 Chinese peacekeepers landed at the Beijing Capital International Airport at about 19:10 on Thursday. The 189 soldiers belonged to the 18th Chinese peacekeeping force to Liberia.

The 18th Chinese peacekeeping force to Liberia consisted of the transportation, engineer and medical detachments. The 508 peacekeepers came from the PLA Army's 27th and 38th Combined Corps and the Bethune International Peace Hospital. Since September 2015, the three detachments of the 18th Chinese peacekeeping force has fulfilled their tasks with flying colors and all the 508 officers and men have been conferrred the United Nations Honorary Medal of Peace.
