NOVOROSSIYSK, Russia, July 27 (ChinaMil) -- The International Army Games 2016 is around the corner and currently, the 17 teams of the Chinese PLA delegation have all arrived at the competition areas in Russia and Kazakhstan and are engaged in adaptability training.
The airborne troops to participate in the Airborne Platoon competition started their first time of joint adaptability training on July 25, local time. The Chinese airborne platoon successfully completed all training courses using a Mi-8 helicopter.
Airborne platoons from Russia, Kazakhstan, Venezuela, Egypt, China, Iran and Belarus are participating in the Airborne Platoon competition.
The Chinese airborne platoon will compete on July 27 against their foreign counterparts at the contest of landing within a platoon, battle march, which is one of the three contests in the first stage of Airborne Platoon Competition.
Compared with the Airborne Platoon competition last year, this year's Airborne Platoon competition is closer to real combat, and the paratroopers will go through more contests with harder conditions.
The competiton aims to examine five types of capabilities of platoon parachuting and penetration, combat vehicle driving and obstacle-crossing, operation of weapons, individual fitness and cross-country race, integration of troops and weapons and tactical coordination.
