Chinese embassies celebrate 89th founding anniversary of PLA

BEIJING, August 1 (ChinaMil) -- Chinese embassies around the world recently hosted receptions to celebrate the 89th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).

Guests attending these receptions all appreciated China's outstanding contributions to international and regional peace and stability, and hoped to further enhance the level of cooperation with the Chinese military.

The Chinese embassy to Sweden hosted a reception in Stockholm on July 27. Military attaché Xu Jun said in his speech that the Chinese military had made great sacrifices and important contributions to safeguard regional and world peace.

The Chinese embassy to Mexico hosted a reception on July 26 and the guests appreciated China’s independent foreign policy of peace and the defensive national defense policy.

Guests spoke highly of China’s efforts in safeguarding international and regional peace, stability and development at the reception on July 26 held by the Chinese embassy to Egypt.

Military attaché Zhou Ming pointed out that China has become the second largest contributor of UN peacekeeping missions at the reception hosted by the Chinese embassy to Germany.

The Chinese embassy to Albania hosted a reception in Tirana on July 26. Guests from various sectors of the Albanian society expressed admiration for the great achievements made by the Chinese military and praised outstanding performance of the Chinese armed forces in international peacekeeping and domestic disaster relief operations.

The Chinese embassy to Brazil hosted a reception in Brasilia on July 21. Military attaché Jin Tao introduced the achievements of China's military modernization in the new era.

At the reception held by the Chinese embassy to Denmark, guests expressed their appreciation for the tireless efforts and contributions made by China in safeguarding world peace.

The Chinese embassy to Latvia hosted a reception in Riga on July 28 and the guests there expressed their appreciation for the positive contribution of the Chinese military to safeguard world peace and regional stability.

The Chinese embassy to the Czech Republic hosted a reception in Prague on July 28. Czech Airborne Veterans Association awarded Chinese military attaché Sun Xiaofeng the "Truth will prevail" bronze medal in recognition of the contributions made by him in the military exchanges between the two countries.

The Chinese embassy to Indonesia hosted a reception in Jakarta on July 28. Guests showed admiration for the efforts and contribution made by the Chinese armed forces in international peacekeeping, disaster relief, counter-terrorism, escort and other fields.

The Chinese embassy to Georgia held a reception in Tbilisi on July 28. The Georgian Defense Minister Tina Khidasheli hoped to further promote the friendly exchanges between the two armed forces.

The Chinese embassy to Croatia hosted a reception in Zagreb on July 28. Croatian military officers and multinational military attachés expressed appreciation for the strong support provided by the Chinese military to safeguard national sovereignty, security and development.
