Raheel Sharif, who was in China for the Inaugural High Level Military Leader Meeting on Quadrilateral Cooperation and Coordination Mechanism in Counter Terrorism by Afghanistan-China-Pakistan-Tajikistan Armed Forces, on Aug 2, 2016.

Fang Fenghui said China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners. The two sides are stepping up their all-round cooperation according to the series of important consensuses reached by President Xi Jinping and President Mamnoon Hussain.

Fang expressed that the "quadrilateral mechanism" is the first security cooperation mechanism established by the militaries of regional countries, and the mutual support between Chinese and Pakistani armed forces is critical for safeguarding regional peace and stability.

Pakistan will firmly crack down upon terrorist forces like the "East Turkestan Islamic Movement" and protect the security of "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor", he added.

Pakistan will also resolutely support the "quadrilateral mechanism" proposed by China and believes the mechanism will play an important role in preserving regional peace and stability with the united efforts of all parties, Raheel said.
