ASHULUK TRAINING RANGE, Russia, Aug. 3 (ChinaMil) -- The Keys to the Sky international contest, one of the twenty-three contests of the International Army Games 2016, kicked off at the Ashuluk training range, Astrakhan Region of Russia on July 31, local time.

Teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and China will participate in this year's Keys to the Sky contest, a contest among air defense missile troops.

Lieutenant General Viktor Gumennyy, deputy commander-in-chief of Russian Aerospace Forces, announced the beginning of the contest.

The Chinese team will participate in all the events including defeating a simulated adversary attack with a simulation launch of AD guided missiles and launcher loading competition, etc.. It is also the first time for the Chinese surface-to-air missile (SAM) troops to participate in such an international military competition.
