The landing of Typhoon Kaemi over July 25-27 along the coastal areas of
China was not able to hold back a flotilla of the North China Sea Fleet of the
PLA Navy from sailing to the rim of the typhoon, where was the preset waters for
the training, to conduct maritime training as scheduled. By overcoming various
difficulties brought about by the violent storms and waves as well as the heavy
rain and thick fog caused by Typhoon Kaemi, they successfully rounded off
training items such as night navigation, coordination between ships and
aircraft, comprehensive supply, and more. Moreover, they came up with a batch of
training and fighting methods in adverse climate.
