On August 11, some hundred militiamen of the Dongtai Maritime Militia Motorboat Element in Jiangsu Province staged a comprehensive exercise on the Yellow River on the basis of its previous rigorous training. The purpose of the exercise is to boost the operational capability of the element to perform emergency, difficult, dangerous and heavy tasks at sea (or on the river). The picture shows the militiamen of the element are swapping experience during a training break on how to grasp the essentials of maritime rescue operation as well as the skills of piloting motorboats.
