Military hospital drills on wartime medical support

PLA Daily 2006-09-01

Bearing in mind the special requirements in the future battlefield, the No.92 Hospital of the PLA lays stress on trainings for enhancing the medical support in wartime by combining the trainings closely with medical aid in peacetime, which resulted in effectively boosting the all-round medical treatment of the hospital. In the past few years, they have participated in over 300 major emergency treatment cases under close-to-war circumstances and saved several thousand wounded soldiers with 98%-plus survival rate.

Keeping their eyes on the future and basing their training on battlefield support, the hospital regards the emergency medical support in wartime as the main subject of their medical service study. It has, in close combination with the hospital's tasks, successively opened over ten medical service subjects such as emergency mobility and setting up field hospital in wartime, and studied on the key subjects including emergency first aid on battlefield, emergency evacuation of the wounded and transferring them to the rear as well as psychological consultation in wartime, which has led to the gaining of multiple achievements. It has also engaged in the study of 80-odd new research subjects in the special fields such as burn surgery, wound surgery and psychological health, achieving 134 new technological results. These innovative results for first aid on battlefield will not only play an important role in wartime, but have already been extensively used in peacetime clinical treatment in military or non-military hospitals.
