Xu Caihou met with trainees attending training course of writers, artists and professional backbones

  Xu Caihou, member of the secretariat of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, stressed when he met with trainees attending the training course of writers, artists and professional backbones from units directly under the General Political Department of the PLA that publicity and cultural work of the army must uphold Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of “Three Represents” as the guidance and provide a powerful ideological driving force for the modernization drive of the state and the army.

  Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the PLA General Political Department attended the meeting.

  Xu Caihou said that the contingent of publicity and cultural workers of the army has always been an important force in publicizing Party’s lines, guiding principles and policies and in strengthening the ideological and political work of the army. The just concluded 4th Plenum of the 16th Central Committee of the CPC and the Enlarged Meeting of the Central Military Commission have made strategic arrangements for enhancing the governance capability of the CPC, speeding up the military changes with Chinese characteristics and stepping up preparations for the military struggle. He expressed the hope that all those who attended the course should actively adapt themselves to the requirements of the situation and the tasks, and strive to be pacesetters at publicity and cultural front of the army.

  Li Jinai pointed out at the conclusion of the training course that the running of this training course was a specific step taken to implement the spirit of the 4th Plenum of the 16th Central Committee of the CPC and the Enlarged Meeting of the Central Military Commission, and an important measure taken for strengthening the press and publishing, artistic and sports contingent of the General Political Department of PLA.
