QINGDAO, Aug. 27 (Xinhuanet) -- Russian troops in China to participate in the first joint military exercise with Chinese troops began on Saturday to leave for home.
The departure was led by Russian air force and parachuting units in the morning, and Russian commanders left by a special plane in the evening.
A formation of Russian warships from the Pacific Fleet is scheduled to leave Qingdao Port on Sunday morning, with Russian marine corps on board.
The Russians completed their gathering in the Shandong Peninsula, east China, on Aug. 12, to join Chinese troops in their first joint drills during Aug. 14-16. Some 10,000 troops of the two countries carried out combat exercises with live ammunition during Aug. 18-25.
After the exercise was completed, the Russian troops had their parachuting, naval and air-force equipment on display in Chinese barracks in Weifang City, Qingdao Port, and Liuting Airport, respectively. Enditem
