Armed policemen show love to deaf-mute children in Tianshui

english.chinamil.com.cn 2005-12-22

In mid December, the Tianshui Detachment of the Armed Police Gansu Contingent was once more elected as the "Advanced Unit of Supporting the Government and Cherishing the People" by the Tianshui Municipal Party Committee and the Tianshui Municipal Government. Their good deeds of showing solicitude for education and care for the deaf-mute children have won high praise from the local people.

The detachment has paired up with the Tianshui Deaf-mutes School for over ten years for the establishment of model community and unit with their joint efforts. Thereafter, it has been sticking to the practice of appointing after-school activities counselors for the pupils, donating money to them once a year, and buying stationary commodities, daily necessities and other articles for their study for these children. Meanwhile, the officers and men of the detachment also donated nearly 100,000 yuan and 6,700-odd pieces of clothes to the Hope Project and the Spring Buds Program.
