A harmonious socialist society is one in which man and nature is in harmony. Thus in order to play its part in building a harmonious socialist society, the army must be mindful of environmental protection, and make their due contributions to the eco-environmental improvement when they engage in the capital construction and combat readiness training so as to play a leading role in environmental protection. For instances, in planning the construction of training grounds and other military facilities, the related military units should subordinate themselves to the arrangements by local governments except for special needs, and use the croplands and forest land as less as possible so as to gain maximum benefits from the land resources. When performing duties or executing missions, the troops should try their best not to use or use as less as possible the high-pitched loudspeakers and alarm signals so as not to disturb civilians' normal daily work and life. During the military maneuvers, march and field camping, the military units should keep away from farmlands, grasslands and woodlands so as to reduce the damage to vegetations. The military exercises and live-fire practices should be carried out at places far away from the civilian living areas, gardens and scenic spots so as to minimize the environmental damage and protect natural resources and ecological environment.
