english.chinamil.com.cn 2007-02-08

Under the cover of strong electromagnetic jamming, a fleet of strike aircraft of the "blue team" staged a powerful air attack against the air defense targets at the strategic points of a missile division of the air force under the Beijing Military Area Command, leaving the latter with no option but to put up a fierce fight against the "blue team" by resorting to various means. This was how a confrontation training in a complex electromagnetic environment organized by the division started to unfold in early February, in which such fighting methods as anti-jamming and pulse simulation seduction were tested in the "flames of war".

According to the chief of staff of the division Su who was directing the exercise on site, the division kicked off the new training season by keeping an eye on the special characteristics of the information warfare in the future, and for that matter, it has doubled up its efforts in the study of training and fighting methods in complex electromagnetic environment against the enemy. One way of doing it is to put to full use of the training simulators that came in with the new armaments to simulate various jamming targets for the sake of engaging the troops in high-intensity training. Another way is to create a true-to-life electromagnetic battlefield environment so as to render it possible for the officers and men to conduct confrontation training under intricate conditions close to real operation. Owing to these efforts, the quality and ability of the officers and men to adapt themselves to complex electromagnetic environment are raised.
