english.chinamil.com.cn 2007-02-12

The food series with anti-radiation functions, developed by the PLA Military Economics Academy, successfully completed dietary effect appraisal and passed the evaluation organized by the related department of the PLA General Logistics Department on February 6. The experts held that the anti-radiation food could help enhance anti-radiation capability of human body and protect physical and mental health of the officers and men. Thus it is of important significance towards enhancing the combat power of the troops.

The anti-radiation food research group, headed by Professor Li Deyuan, a tutor of doctorate students of the Quartermaster Department of the Military Economics Academy, first extracted and separated bioactive elements from over 100 traditional Chinese medicines, edible fungus and marine organisms, and then through a rigorous screening process it selected optimum formulas and dosages for the anti-radiation food series. The food series have neither noxious nor side effect upon human body.
