At the height of the winter, while visiting a frontier regiment in Inner
Mongolia for news coverage, the reporters noticed a new type of patrol vehicle
newly distributed to the frontier companies there.
The frontier regiment the reporters visited is responsible for keeping up
constant guard and patrol over a thousand-kilometer-long frontier sector in
which terrain is complex and natural conditions are harsh. Early this year, the
higher level allocated 8 new patrol vehicles to the regiment. This new type of
patrol vehicle has very nice cross-country capability, and the video
reconnaissance system installed on the vehicle can transmit real-time frontier
information back to the regiment headquarters. In addition, the vehicle can
generate electricity for cooking purpose, and the air conditioning system on the
vehicle be enables the inside of the vehicle as warm as spring even if the
outside temperature plummets to minus 30 degrees Celsius in the Gobi Desert.
