Upon the approval of Chairman Hu Jintao, the Central Military Commission decided to officially implement the joint logistics system in the Jinan war theater starting from 2007.

　　Days ago, the Central Military Commission issued the Implementation Scheme on the adjustment and reform required for the formal implementation of the joint logistics system in the Jinan war theater.

　　According to the Implementation Scheme, the logistics support for the PLA three services in the Jinan war theater shall operate through the following channel: the General Logistics Department of the PLA——the joint logistics department of the theater ( joint logistics sub-department)——the logistics organizations of various troops, and shall be organized and implemented by combining regional support with organic system support and by dovetailing joint logistics support with accompanying logistics support of troops. All the expenditures and materials the troops in the theater shall draw and reimburse according to the stipulated standards will be drawn and supplied by the joint logistics system. In addition, the joint logistics system shall be responsible for the systematic medical care, sanitation and epidemic prevention and POL technical supervision of the troops in the theater, and organizing military transportation by making use of national, social and joint logistics transport strength as well as campaign service support such as engineering quality supervision, rush repair and construction of engineering projects and environmental monitoring in military barracks.
