Liang Guanglie meets German guest

  Liang Guanglie, member of the Central Military Commission and chief of general staff of the PLA, met with the visiting Inspector-General (Chief of Staff) of the German Air Force Stieglitz and his party on the morning of April 20 in Beijing.

  Liang Guanglie first expressed warm welcome to Stieglitz. He said that the Sino-German relations have maintained good momentum of growth in recent years, characterized by the frequent exchanges of high-level visits and constant enhancement of political mutual-trust. Along with the steady development of the relations between the two countries, the relations between the two militaries have also steadily deepened, as evidenced by frequent exchanges of high-level visits and smooth operation of exchange and dialogue mechanism as well as fruitful cooperation in various fields, including the air force sector. Liang Guanglie said that the Chinese side attaches importance to developing its ties with the German Armed Forces and is willing to make common efforts with the German side to boost the friendly cooperative ties between the two militaries to a new level.

  Stieglitz expressed the hope that his current visit to China would further enhance the friendship between the two countries and the two militaries, especially between the two air forces. He also expressed his willingness to continue to work hard to make new contributions to consolidating and developing the friendly cooperation and exchange between the two militaries.

  Qiao Qingchen, member of the Central Military Commission and commander of the PLA Air Force, was present during the meeting.
