On the occasion of the International Children's Day (June 1), Xu Caihou, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), visited the children in Lantian Kindergarten of the PLA Air Force and the children receiving treatment in the Armed Police General Hospital yesterday afternoon. On behalf of CMC Chairman Hu Jintao and other leaders, Xu Caihou extended festive greetings to children, expressed warm regards and paid high respects to teachers who have worked assiduously for children in the kindergarten and medical workers who have made their contributions to medical treatment of sick children from poor families.

　　Qiao Qingchen, member of the Central Military Commission and commander of the PLA Air force accompanied Xu Caihou to visit the children.

　　The "activity of helping the poor and rescuing the children of heart diseases---one by one, we help them have good health for ever", jointly sponsored by the Armed Police General Hospital and the Red Cross Society of China, has given medical treatment to over 600 children of poor families with heart diseases. Xu Caihou also visited children who were receiving surgical operations in the Armed Police General Hospital and presented them with festive gifts.
