Liang Guanglie, member of the Central Military Commission and chief of
general staff of the PLA, held talks with visiting Abdelaziz Bennani, general
inspector of the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces yesterday afternoon in Beijing.
Liang said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between
China and Morocco, there has been sustained and stable development of friendly
cooperative ties between the two countries, featuring fruitful cooperation in
political, economic, cultural and other fields. The Chinese side is grateful to
the Moroccan government for its firm support to China on the Taiwan issue and
human rights, etc. The relations between the two militaries, as an important
part of the relations between the two countries, have maintained a good momentum
of development in recent years, as evidenced by constant deepening of
cooperation in various fields. The Chinese side adopts a positive attitude
towards developing its relationship with the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces and is
willing to work together with Moroccan friends to boost the relations between
the two militaries to a new height.
Liang also briefed his guests on China's national defense policy and the
army building.
Bennani said that the friendly cooperative relations between Morocco and
China are time-honored and have made fruitful achievements. Morocco attaches
importance to developing military ties with the Chinese armed forces, and he
expressed the hope that his current visit to China would help further boost the
exchanges and expand the range of cooperation between the two militaries.
Zhang Qinsheng, deputy chief of general staff of the PLA, participated in
the talks.
