The final Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology (TCMP) Skill Contest of the PLA was held in Beijing yesterday. Wu Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice premier of the State Council, and Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Logistics Department of the PLA, attended and addressed the award-giving ceremony of the final contest and gave out awards to winners.

　　Liao Xilong stressed in his speech that the PLA must set sights on effectively carrying out the historical mission in the new century and the new period, give full play to the special role of TCMP in consolidating and enhancing the fighting power and medical support capacity of the troops and bring about an overall improvement of TCMP level of the PLA.

　　In yesterday's fierce final contest, 9 contestants won the title of "TCMP Master Doctor" of the PLA while 13 others were awarded the title of "TCMP Experts" of the PLA.
