The forum in commemoration of the 100^th anniversary of birthday of Comrade Wang Ping, a long-tested Communist fighter, proletarian revolutionary, military strategist and outstanding leader for political work of the army, was ceremoniously held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing yesterday. Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, Cao Gangchuan, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, state councilor and minister of national defense, Xu Caihou, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and veterans Zhang Wannian and Zhao Nanqi attended the forum.

　　Guo Boxiong stated that Comrade Wang Ping bequeathed to us a rich reservoir of precious spirit wealth that is worth of our learning forever. We should learn from his boundless loyalty to the Party, his unswerving concreted faith to the Communist ideal, his heroic spirit to surmount all difficulties and defeat enemies, his lofty quality to uphold truth and be highly responsible for the revolutionary cause, and his excellent style of work and lofty character of truth-seeking and pragmatic, selflessness, honest and clean.

　　Members of the Central Military Commission Liang Guanglie, Li Jinai, Chen Bingde and Jing Zhiyuan, and veteran Wang Ke attended the forum. Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Logistics Department of the PLA attended and addressed the forum. Besides, Liu Mingpu, representative of veterans and former deputy director of the General Logistics Department of the PLA, and Yang Song, vice secretary of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee also had the floor at the forum.
