Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of
the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission,
and Xu Caihou, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and
vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, watched Loyalty , a
full-length situational song and dance reportage opera with Fang Yonggang, a
model instructor loyal to the innovative theories of the Party, as the prototype
of its hero, at the auditorium of the PLA Navy yesterday evening.
Liang Guanglie, Chen Bingde, Li Jinai, Liao Xilong, Chang Wanquan, Jing
Zhiyuan, Wu Shengli and Xu Qiliang, members of the Central Military Commission,
were also present to watch the performance.
The situational song and dance reportage opera, created in ten months by
the Cultural Troupe of the Political Department of the PLA Navy, is made up of
ten situational episodes. Through adoption of various artistic expressions
including situational reproductions, songs and dances, narrations and recitation
of poems, the opera has vividly reproduced Fang Yonggang's moving deeds of
devotedly studying, having faith in, publicizing and practicing the innovative
theories of the Party.
After the performance, Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou stepped onto the stage to
offer their congratulations to the performers on the success of their
performance.
Guo Boxiong pointed out that military literary and art undertaking is an
important part of the socialist cultural development, and its principal task is
to publicize the spirit of patriotism and revolutionary heroism, and help
consolidate and enhance the fighting power of the troops. He urged the military
literary and art workers to earnestly study, publicize and implement the spirit
of the 17th CPC National Congress, constantly create more and still better
literary and art works and push for sound and rapid development of military
literary and art undertakings so as to provide spiritual impetus and cultural
support for promoting revolution in military affairs with Chinese
characteristics and the preparations for military struggle.
