Hu Jintao signs order to issue revised PLA regulations on crime prevention

  Hu Jintao, Chairman of the Central Military Commission, signed an order recently to promulgate the revised Regulations on Crime Prevention Work of the PLA.

  The revised Regulations on Crime Prevention Work of the PLA is based on the laws, regulations and policies newly issued by the state and the PLA, and aims to study and address the new situations and problems. The Regulations has systemized and standardized the crime prevention work in the PLA, and as a result, the contents are more comprehensive with more emphasis being placed on the key points and the measures more forceful, hence being the primary basis for enhancing and improving the work of crime prevention in the new century and the new period.

  The Regulations, in 77 articles of seven chapters, has improved the comprehensive crime prevention work system, specified the functions, emphasized the basic working measures with ideological education being in the main part, standardized the basic regulations for the operation of crime prevention work, and clearly defined the specific requirements of meting out awards and punishments.
