Liao Xilong, member of the Central Military Commission and director of the
General Logistics Department of the PLA, stressed on Jan. 11 at the enlarged
meeting of the Party committee of the PLA General Logistics Department that the
Party committees at various levels should thoroughly implement the essence of
the 17th National Congress of the CPC, follow the instructions of Chairman Hu
Jintao and the Central Military Commission, stick to the principle of unity of
revolutionization, modernization and regularization, adhere to the leading
position of logistical preparations for military struggles, give prominence to
quality and efficiency, set sights on the objective and mission of building
modern logistics in an all round way, emancipate mind, seek truth from facts,
keep pace with the times, so as to deepen various logistics reform in an active
and stable way and with high and responsible revolutionary pioneering spirit and
scientific and realistic attitude and push for better and faster logistic
development of the PLA.
Liao Xilong stressed that the Party committees at various levels should
constantly enhance their sense of responsibility and urgency in their efforts to
deepen the reform, work hard to solve main contradictions and outstanding issues
in modern logistics which are not suited to the requirements for ensuring to win
local war under the conditions of informationization and the support
capabilities which are not compatible with requirements for fulfilling the
historical mission of the PLA in the new century and the new period, strive to
realize new breakthroughs in the reform in some key areas and key links and
constantly deepen reforms in various logistics work.
Sun Dafa, political commissar of the PLA General Logistics Department, made
a work report on behalf of the Party committee of the PLA General Logistics
Department and made arrangements for the work in 2008. Wang Qian, Li Maifu and
Ding Jiye, deputy directors of the PLA General Logistics Department and Qin
Yinhe, deputy director of the PLA General Logistics Department and president of
the PLA General Hospital, attended the meeting.
