More foreign countries congratulate Chinese leaders on election

  BEIJING, March 17 (Xinhua) -- More foreign leaders have sent messages of congratulation to the Chinese leaders newly elected at the ongoing First Session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC).


Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, is reelected president of the country and chairman of the Central Military Commission of China during the fifth plenary meeting of the NPC session in Beijing, capital of China, March 15, 2008.

  The following foreign leaders have sent messages of congratulation to President Hu Jintao, who was reelected president of the country on Saturday:

  Choummaly Saygnasone, president of Laos

  Idriss Deby Itno, president of Chad

  Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait

  Than Shwe, chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of Myanmar
