SANAA, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping concluded his
five-nation Asia tour here Wednesday evening and left Sanaa for home.
Xi arrived in Sanaa on Tuesday afternoon for a two-day official visit to
Yemen. During the visit, Xi met with President Ali Abdullah Saleh and held talks
with Vice President Abdal-Rab Mansural-Hadii.
Xi also delivered a speech at a China-Yemen investment seminar, which was
attended by Prime Minister Ali Muhammad al-Mujawar and officials and businessmen
from both countries.
During the visit, China and Yemen signed a number of agreements on
cooperation in such areas as economy, technology, education and public health.
Yemen was the final leg of Xi's five-nation Asia tour, which had also taken
him to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia and
Qatar. This was the first overseas trip Xi has made since assuming office as
vice president.
Xi was seen off by Yemen's Vice President Abdal-Rab Mansur al-Hadii at the
airport when leaving Sanaa.
