MINSK, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Belarus is to continuously promote military
cooperation with China, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said here on
Monday.
Belarus highly values its comprehensive friendship of cooperation with
China, Lukashenko said while meeting with General Chang Wanquan, chief of the
General Armaments Department of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China.
Promoting bilateral military relations is in the fundamental interests of
both Belarus and China, he said.
China has reached a high level of development not only in its economy but
also in the area of military, he added.
The development of bilateral military ties between China and Belarus has
maintained a sound momentum in recent years, thanks to the support of the
leaders of the two countries, Chang said.
China is ready to work with Belarus to promote bilateral exchanges and
cooperation on military equipment and technology to a higher level, Chang added.
Chang started on Sunday a four-day visit to Belarus.
