Art curiosities to mark 100th birthday of Deng Xiaoping

　　SHANGHAI, July 16 (Xinhuanet) -- To mark the 100th birthday of Deng Xiaoping, a set of art curiosities, consisting of a gold book, silver chopsticks, bronze mirror and a flat jade piece, made its debut i n Shanghai on Friday.

　　 These art curiosities are carved with inscriptions highlighting Deng's outstanding achievements, thought and the air of a great master.

　　 Aug. 22 this year marks the 100th birthday of Deng, who launched China's reform and opening-up drive in the late 1970s.

　　 Only 500 sets of the art curiosities will be produced.

　　 Also on Friday, a golden sheet titled "Great man Deng Xiaoping" made its debut in Shanghai. Only 5,000 such golden sheets will be produced.

　　 One of the sets of art curiosities will be housed in the Memorial Hall of Deng Xiaoping, located in Deng's hometown Guang'an in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
