Exhibition on Deng Xiaoping Opens

  An exhibition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping is open to public in Beijing from Tuesday in the National Museum.

  The exhibition shows four historical periods that Deng Xiaoping was involved in, from the founding of the People's Republic of China to the construction of a well-off society in an all-round way.

  Over 300 historical pictures, 100 items and 50 documents will be on display. Many are on show for the first time.

  Deng Xiaoping is respected as the chief architect of China's reform and open policies, which has dramatically improved the life in China for the past two decades.

  Cultural events to celebrate his centenary birth anniversary are hot around the country, including TV plays, films, concerts, and various exhibitions.
