Jian Qinglin, a senior Chinese leader, on Tuesday called for greater
importance attached to theory research and applying the Deng Xiaoping
theory and the important thought of Three Represents more actively in
practice.
Jia, chairman of
the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative
Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks at the closing ceremony of a CPPCC
National Committee meeting here marking the centenary of the birth of Deng
Xiaoping and studying Deng's theory on the people's political consultative
system.
Jia said as China enters the new
development stage of building a well-off society in an all-round way and
accelerating socialist modernization, it's imperative to apply the Deng
Xiaoping theory in concrete practice.
Jia said the work of the people's
consultative conference in various fields should keep pace with the times
and be creative. He urged pushing forward theoretical innovation to
advance the work.
