The PLA held a military exercise in east Lia oning Province in November 1955 to enhance its anti-amphibious operation capability under modern conditions. During the exercise, Liu Shaoqi, He Long, Deng Xiaoping and Ye Jianying inspected the coastal defense aboard a speedboat.
