Deputy suggests giving full play to the role of student-turned officers

The
proportion of officers, recruited from civilian universities, in the grassroots
units of the PLA has increased and they are playing more and more important
roles in the army. How to improve their competency and capability? Zeng Jiao, a
deputy to the NPC from the army suggested at the first plenary meeting of the
army that efforts should be made to improve the training and management
mechanism so as to convert the student-turned officers to real soldiers. Works
should be done to create a favorable environment for treasuring them and
kindling the internal impetus of the student-turned officers to make
contributions on their posts.
