PLA delegation holds first plenary meeting

The PLA
delegation attending the Third Session of the Tenth National People's Congress
held its first plenary meeting on March 7, 2005. 12 members of the delegation
talked about the national defense and army building when they reviewed the
Government Work Report. They unanimously stressed on holding high the great
banners of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of "Three Represents",
speeding up national defense and army modernization drive and providing security
support to the construction of a socialist harmonious society. Guo Boxiong, Cao
Gangchuan, Liang Guanglie, Li Jinai and Liao Xilong attended and Xu Caihou
presided over the meeting.
These 12 delegation members come from different units and
different posts, they offer their advice and suggestions centering on the
military changes with Chinese characteristics, on striving to accomplish the
historical tasks of mechanization and informationization for the PLA and on
providing the security support for the construction of a harmonious society in
combination with their survey results and work practice.
Leaders from the State Development and Reform Commission,
the Ministry of Finance and other departments were present to listen to advice
and suggestions of the PLA delegates.
