NPC deputy
Zhang Wentai: Enacting the Anti-Secession Law is in line with the provisions of
the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, represents the true voice of
the Chinese nation and her people, and accords with the common interests of the
compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Thus it is quite necessary and
timely to enact this law. The law can effectively hold the “Taiwan independence”
forces in check, stop the interference by foreign forces and effectively
safeguard the national sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as the
fundamental interests of the Chinese nation.
NPC deputy Yang Guoliang: Enactment of the Anti-Secession
Law provides a powerful legal weapon for the reunification of the motherland and
accords with the wish of the people. It has turned the Party's stand and the
people's wish into the will of the state and will surely further mobilize the
entire Chinese people in their struggle against the “Taiwan independence”
activities.
NPC deputy Wang Shouye: With explicit guiding thinking,
the Anti-Secession Law has given full expression to China's consistent position
of doing the utmost with maximum sincerity for a peaceful reunification. At the
same time, it also demonstrates the common will and strong resolve of the entire
Chinese people, including all the commanders and fighters of the PLA, to
safeguard China's sovereignty and territorial integrity and never allow the
“Taiwan Independence” forces to make Taiwan seceded from China under any name or
by any means.
CPPCC member Hu Yanlin: Enactment of the Anti-Secession
Law is an important strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee
according to the circumstances, and it is enacted to meet the urgent need of and
to provide a powerful measure for promoting the reunification of the motherland
and curbing the “Taiwan independence” activities. It is a concentrated
expression of the fundamental interests and common wish of the Chinese nation
and embodies the strategy of governing the country by law and provides a legal
base and legal support for solving the Taiwan issue.
