Nie Haisheng

　　 As China might launch its second manned space mission Shenzhou VI later this month or next month, Nie Haisheng, a Hubei native, is one of the potential astronauts for the mission.

　　Nie Haisheng was born in 1964 in a small village of Yangdang town of Zaoyang, Hubei Province in Central China. His family was poor, but Nie studied hard. Nie began to fly a fighter plane in 1989.

　　“I do feel gratitude for care and concerns by people in my hometown”, Nie said.

　　Nie is now preparing for the mission in Beijing.
