New start of China's access to space: People's Daily

  BEIJING, Oct. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- People's Daily, a leading Chinese newspaper, will publish a commentry on its Thursday edition to hail the successful launch of China's second manned spacecraft Shenzhou-6 on Wednesday.

  The commentry, titled "a new start of access to space", says the second manned space flight mission is China's first space scientific experiment with men involved in real sense, leading thecountry's manned space flight program into second stage.

  The launch of the second manned spacecraft is a significant start for the second phase of China's three-step manned flight program initiated in 1992, including the launch of manned spacecrafts, space lab and the construction of perpetual space station, the commentry says.

  The successful manned space flight mission of Shenzhou-5 in 2003 marked the accomplishment of the first task while the Shenzhou-6 mission carries the transitional function as it will implement technological renovation and improve the functions and performance of seven key systems of China's manned flight project, the commentry says.

  The commentry says that China's manned space flight mission is aimed at the peaceful exploration and utilization of the outer space and finally serving the human being along with the international community.

  China is due to and is also able to make contributions to the scientific advance and peace and development in the world.
