
Overseas Chinese in Hawaii visit modern battleships from their
motherland.

At 12:00 on September 6, local time (6:00 a.m. on September 7, Beijing
time), the Chinese naval vessel task force, made up of the No. 113 Missile
Destroyer and the No. 881 Comprehensive replenishment Ship, and which is on its
way to visit the United States, Canada and the Philippines, arrived at its first
leg of the three-nation trip-the Pearl Harbor, kicking off its four-day visit to
Hawaii.
On the afternoon of the same day, Rear Admiral Wang Fushan, commander of
the task force and the captains of the two vessels paid courtesy calls to Rear
Admiral Alexander of Hawaii Naval Command and local governmental officials of
Hawaii State and Honolulu City. The officials of the Chinese embassy and
consulate in the US, Chinese nationals and overseas Chinese and representatives
of Chinese holding agencies visited the two Chinese naval vessels.
Since its departure from Qingdao on August 21, the naval vessel task force
has covered 4,984 nautical miles in 402 hours of continuous voyage before it
arrived at the Pearl Harbor day before yesterday.
