Deputy Zhao Jianzhong: going all out to win

  Zhao Jianzhong, PLA deputy to the NPC and director of the Mobilization Department of the General Staff Headquarters of the PLA, granted an interview with the PLA Daily reporter in the Jingxi Hotel after the PLA delegation to the NPC annual session held its 3rd plenary meeting on the afternoon of March 12. "Today is indeed a will-never-forget day," he told the reporter with emotions, "Central Military Chairman Hu Jintao's important speech to the PLA delegation this afternoon is of important and far-reaching significance in terms of boosting the army building in a better and faster way."

  "We should act in accordance with the requirements of Chairman Hu", Zhao Jianzhong went on, "observe the situation soberly, and make judgment scientifically, be energetic to adapt to the tendency of the national security situation with a further enhanced comprehensive, intricate and changeable nature, take on conscientiously the sacred duty of safeguarding the national security and development, and make sure that the armed forces are capable of effectively coping with crisis, maintaining peace, holding war in check, and wining war."

  Zhao Jianzhong further stated that for the sake of rendering powerful and energetic security guarantee for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and shaping up a harmonious socialist society, we were required to build up a strong awareness of unexpected development, a sense of responsibility and mission, get ride of the false sense of peace and security, seize every minute and concentrate our attention and all our efforts on the practice of "wining war", beef up our capability of winning local war under informationalization conditions, and be resolute to do a good job in fulfilling our sacred duties of defending the national sovereignty, unification, territorial integrity and security of China.
