For days in a row, the PLA deputies to the NPC have been studying and
comprehending the spirit of Chairman Hu Jintao's important speech, which has
enabled them to make a correct assessment of the situation from a higher
strategic height and become more profoundly aware of that the mission of
preparation for military struggle is arduous. Only by effectively promoting
various preparations with sound and effective military training, can the troops
be ready at any time to fulfill the sacred mission of safeguarding the national
sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"Giving military training the central position is the objective requirement
of army building in peacetime. In sticking to the practice of making overall
arrangements of various work with military training at the core lies the only
answer to ensuring effective implementation of military training and the
coordinated development of various work. And that makes the training ground the
main battlefield of the servicemen in peacetime," said Deputy Yao Yunzhu, who is
also a military scholar, "Servicemen love peace. But in the dictionary of the
servicemen, the word "peacetime" is replaceable with another term, to wit, the
time of war preparation."
"Military training is an important practice of promoting revolution in
military affairs and putting into effect the preparation for military struggle,
and likewise the most dynamic field of making innovations," said deputy Jia
Xiaowei, commander of a group army, "A great many demands for reform come up in
training, while the reform schemes are put into practice in training and reform
achievements are tested and improved in training. Such initiatives of innovation
as energetically transforming the growth mode of combat effectiveness and
identifying new growth engine of combat effectiveness make up the central theme
of military training."
Deputy Wang Xibin revealed, "The Beijing Military Area Command will marshal
such combat forces as motorized infantry, mechanized infantry, armored troops,
artillery and air defense troops to the combined-arms tactical training base to
conduct full-course, multi-subject test-oriented confrontation exercise in
complex electromagnetic environments in a bid to explore ways to defeat the
enemy under informationized conditions."
