Ge Zhenlin was born in Xiyu Village, Dangcheng Countryside, Quyang County,
Hebei, in 1917. He joined the revolution in May 1937 and the Eighth Route Army
in 1938. Ge joined the Communist Party of China in February 1940. During the
battle against Japanese aggressors in Langya Mountain, Yi County, Hebei, on
September 25, 1941, he drew attentions of the enemy and jumped down the cliff
with four comrades. He and Song Xueyi were hung on the tree and rescued by other
comrades. Afterwards, he devoted to the War of Liberation and the War to Resist
U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea in succession, experiencing multiple battles and
making several contributions, then winning the medal of the second heroes and
models. After the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea in succession, he
was appointed to be vice director of the logistic department of Guard Corps of
the Hunan Military Area Command, deputy head of public security contingent of
Hunan province, deputy head of the Department of People's Armed Force and deputy
head of the logistic department of Hengyang Security Area in succession, and
retired in 1982. He worked as off-campus advisors in nearly 200 middle and
elementary schools nationwide. Ge died at the age of 88 in No.169 Hospital in
Hengyang, Hunan, on March 21, 2005.

To commemorate the Five Warriors in the Langya Mointain
forever, the people in the Langya Mointain area erected a grand memorial tower
on Qipantuo, the peak of the Langya Mountain.

In May of 1959, at the grand gathering held in Changsha, capital of
Hunan Province, attended by youth in all walks of life to mark the
40th anniversary of the "May 4th Movement", Ge Zhenlin is telling
combat stories to young people.

In August of 1985, at the time of commemorating the 40th
anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression
and the World War II, Ge Zhenlin, at the age of 68, attended upon invitation the
Hunan Provincial Chinese Yong Pioneers Representatives Meeting and gave lectures
to the children on revolutionary traditions.

Ge Zhenlin is much concerned about the education of young
generations.
