Origin of the Army's Day of the Chinese People's Liberation Army
On June 30, 1933, the Central Revolutionary Military Commission decided to
choose the August 1, the date of the Nanchang Uprising, to be the memorial day
of the founding of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army of China. On July 11, the
temporary central government of the Chinese Soviet Republic approved the
decision. Since then, the August 1 each year became the Army's Day of the
Chinese People's Liberation Army.
