Nanchang Uprising (oil painting)
At 2:00 on the early morning of August 1, 1927, more than 20000 troops of
the northern expedition army controlled or influenced by the Communist Party of
China held an uprising in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province, firing the
first gun of armed revolts against Kuomintang reactionaries. The uprising
symbolized that the Communist Party of China began to establish a revolutionary
army and lead the revolutionary war independently.
