A few days ago, an emergency logistics support group of the Second
Artillery Force (SAF) wrapped up a 10-day-long exercise with actual troops, real
equipment and live ammunition. The checkup group of the SAF is of the view that
the support group established only three years ago has already acquired
all-round operational support capability.
In September 2005, the Logistics Department of the SAF outdid the leading
organs of the other services and arms to be the first to form an emergency
logistics support group consisting of 7 required elements like medical care,
material reception and distribution, emergency transportation, epidemic
prevention and protection, and battlefield rush repair in line with the element
requirement of real war support. In addition to that, field comprehensive
trainings were carried out for three years in a row. To highlight pertinence,
adaptability and real-war requirement of emergency logistics support under
actual war conditions, the group succeeded in using automatic water purification
vehicle for water supply, field cook vehicle for food preparation, tent for
bivouac and its own generator for electricity supply, thus effectively uplifting
its capability in self survival and self support in field operations.
