The Chinese naval task force consisting of the "Harbin" missile destroyer and "Hongzehu" comprehensive supply vessel arrived in Auckland, the biggest city of New Zealand, yesterday morning after a five-day voyage since leaving the Sydney Port of Australia. More than 1,000 people, including deputy commander of the New Zealand Navy Commodore Pall and his party, Zhang Yuanyuan, Chinese ambassador to New Zealand, Ma Chongren, Chinese consul general to Auckland, Chinese military attaché Zhang Ping and local Chinese and oversea Chinese, came to the dock to welcome the Chinese naval task force. This makes the third time for Chinese naval task force to visit New Zealand. During the visit, the naval people of both countries will visit each other's vessels and hold various friendly activities such as sports contests and joint military music performances to enhance the mutual understanding and friendship between the two navies. It is said that the task force from the Chinese Navy will stay in Auckland for three days before paying a goodwill visit to Wellington, capital of New Zealand.
